And on the seventh day of Christmas my true love gave to me, seven swans-a-swimming etc. While I did not overtly depict water or swimming I think the undulating pattern of the swans neck & back is sufficiently aquatic. Hope the rest of your day

I fully intended to give you geese & swans today. However the geese had other plans. When I woke up I knew the geese that I had drawn yesterday were not up to par so I spent the morning redrawing & editing these. Hope you enjoy them. The swans might show up later today. We will see. Happy Tuesday Y'all!
Here are the days of Christmas from the weekend: calling birds & golden rings. Tomorrow I will give you geese & swans. Hope your week is off to a strong start. Happy Monday Y'all!
This camellia reminds me of a star, so I think it is fit for Christmas day. May you find what you seek & may your day be filled with peace. Merry Christmas Y'all!
Yesterday, when walking on the bluff, there was an absolute proliferation of stripes. Some of these are always present, like the stairs & the water line on the supporting rocks, but with the inclusion of the clouds & the very gentle lapping waves you have double the number of visible stripes. So I thought I would share them with yHappy Monday Y'all!
Hunting Island Installment #4: Beach Branches. These trees, roots & branches are the aftermath of Hurricane Hugo (1989). While walking along the beach the feeling is very reminiscent of a stark desert, an unusual sensation when you have waves crashing at your feet. The trees form a naturalist sculpture park that is very intriguing to walk thru. Every spot you look at another tableau is playing out. This time of year you have to wait for the tide to be low, unless you want wet cold feet. I wonder if walking thru it will feel the same in summer when there is not the same tidal time constraint? If it will feel as austere? Happy Friday Y'all!
The Hunting Island State Park adventure continue with a lighthouse tour. I love the stark black & white paint of this lighthouse. Inside continued the theme with black stairs & white walls. It was all quite graphic. Because it was such a clear day you could see for miles, which is always interesting. How does the mind really comprehend that much distance? Rationally I can know that something is 10 miles away, but it may look like it is only 500 yards or it may look like its 50 miles? Regardless, it was fun to learn about this lighthouse. Happy Thursday Y'all!
