You look so good

I didn't ever want to be the person that was known for being sick. But I got really sick and was really sick for a long time. I was so sick that a doctor said, "Go home and read your Bible." Implying that I was dying. This changes your perspective. You live within a breath of death. Most people that see me have no idea just how sick I was. Most people can't get over the shock of how old I am, based on how young I look. They have no idea that beneath this jouvine exterior a biological battle is being waged. There are four pernicious bacteria that have taken up residence in my biome. But they all stem from an encounter with little poppy-seed sized insect, that happened to carry lyme borreliosis. This remarkable bacteria is corkscrew shaped and bores into your bones, crosses the blood brain barrier with ease and wreaks havoc on most bodily systems.

What goes along with being sick is having to educate others on sickness and endure all of their helpful suggestions about what worked for them that they learned about from their aunt Suzie. The constant commentary on what you are eating is exhausting. It is a mercy when someone new encounters your particular diet and someone in the know is their to interrupt the barrage of questions with a comment along the lines of, "she is allergic to a lot of stuff." or my personal favorite, "Let's talk about everything that you are eating, sounds fun right?!"
