The Moon is Made of Green Cheese

This weekend I was experimenting with a newly acquired color, Hooker Green, & of course had to try the salt application on it. I was surprised at the browns that showed up. I don't know if it is impurities in the salt or paint, oxidization, or some sort of patina effect. What I do know is I will certainly be experimenting with other colors. This image was made using Arches Hot Press, Winsor & Newton Hooker Green, American Painter 1 Round Brush, Morton's Kosher Salt, & Photoshop (for the background).
