Rules

I stand by the list of rules I made in 2012 and have not ever been able to come up with a more accurate list, but after reading this book I might make some alterations. Not ready to commit to them publicly, but who knows, maybe there will be new rules next week?

If you are interested in some more lists I have this Pinterest board full of a variety of lists, some art related and others not. I find it so interesting to see how others group words and concepts.   

​I recently came across this great list from Rose Adele and it prompted reflection on some of the other great lists I know. Primary among them the Immaculate Heart College Art Department Rules facilitated by Sister Mary Corita. As it happens the Corita Art Center just compiled a wonderful book on the rules with 10 essays and 10 designs inspired by the rules. 

As an art professor I found these essays encouraging and insightful. As an artist I found them liberating and cheering. I highly recommend this book.
