Pattern Pottery

Recently I had the opportunity to go to one of those "clay cafe's" & paint some pottery. The visit was definitely inspired by the fun plates Lisa Congdon has been displaying periodically. It was interesting to work in a different medium, where I was distinctly unfamiliar with how the glaze would render. I used my standard working methods of brush prints to compile the pattern on the left <--. The pattern displayed above ^ was more like my sketchbook patterns. It was a great adventure to try this new process & one I certainly hope to try again. If you have the opportunity I would recommend it. Peace
