I recently turned the dehumidifier off in my studio. The humidity outside has finally dropped below 80% & everything no longer feels damp to the touch. The unintended consequence of this is the salt reacts differently. I should have predicted this as the variation I get in the paintings is due to water levels. However, I did not realize how much it was also affected by the "air water" i.e. humidity. The dehumidifier will be turned back on & I will see if the salt reacts in the way I am familiar with instead of this more splotchy/clumpy fashion... Again I must give thanks for my high school science teacher who introduced me to hypothesis & experimentation, revision & thesis. Now I am off to dehumidify the studio.
