Makoto Fujimura, who I had the privilege to study under, wrote, "I am trying to paint in a way that my photographer says, 'This is impossible to photograph.' Some artists today paint so that the image looks good in photographic reproduction of the image. I am going the opposite direction." He was writing about himself, but perfectly stated my sentiments. I do my best to document the work for you, but nothing compares to seeing it in person, where its full vibrancy & detail can show. Today the image above is a zoomed in, magnified detail shot so you can see more of the nuance. Happy Tuesday Y'all!
