Drawing-A-Day #13

Pinecones are funny things to draw. If you just take the pattern of the petals then you end up with a more convincing image, or at least an image that we have been conditioned to accept as a pinecone. But if you display the petals then you get at the essence of the pinecone. So I keep going back to the question of truth & how artists might not precisely mimic the world, but still bring you, the viewer, a true version. Things to think about. Happy Wednesday Y'all!
