Many of the watercolorists that I follow profess their love for Dr. Ph. Martin's watercolor paints. So I decided I should try som & acquired slate blue, chartreuse, & wild rose. Now the store I was in did not have the Hydra line, just the Radiant so I am not certain of my verdict yet, but I will say that such a different working method is required. You would think that starting with a wet pigment you would have time work, but they seem to dry very quickly, but then if you add water to the page they become workable? That is a foreign watercolor concept to me. Additionally the water then seems to add a different color to the pigment (impurities?). I don't feel as though these have as much range as my tried & true Winsor & Newton's, but I do love their vibrancy & will definitely continue experimenting with them. Happy Wednesday Y'all!
