I read 37 books in July and while the end of the month was disappointing in terms of reads, the begining had some true highlights that I have already recommended far and wide!
Rooted by Brea Barker is a decisive, researched perspective on the history of Black land ownership in America. Not the End of the World by Hannah Ritchie is a hopeful consideration of human impacts on climate change and stewardship. Your Brain on Art by Susan Magsamen and Ivy Ross is the neuro-psych perspective on the impact of art. (you can take their art interest quiz here.) And then? And Then? What else? by Daniel Handler is an encourging memoir about writing. The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas by Ursula K. Le Guin is a insightful reflection on implication and privilege. (you can access the short story here.)
