One of my "est" (sweetest, loveliest, bestest, dearest) friends died on September 14. Her name was Corrie. She was exceedingly kind & supportive. Certainly one of my biggest fans. Corrie had been sick for years, but her end came very quick. I could not put two thoughts together regarding her death, so please forgive my absence these past weeks. What kind of work do you do when you cannot even think? I made a new color chart, because when things don't make sense ruled lines & boxes can be filled with chromatic options with a sort of mindless mechanism. Thank you for understand the absense & bearing with me in these upcoming weeks as I re-calibrate. Peace be with you.

Sometimes when I take a photo instead of captioning it at the bottom, I place the caption on top using the over app. Just wanted to share a few with you today. Happy Friday Y'all!
It seems that after a hiatus I like to tackle something bigger than before. This is my largest painting yet! Measuring 33"x40" If I continue this trend I will soon need to find some trees further apart. Below are some detail shots. I will need to go back & fuss over some spots in this one now that I have been able to step back from it. Because my working method is so wet it necessitates a flat surface, but even when standing on a chair above it there was not enough perspective. If you would like to see a little, 15 second, video of me working on this painting click here. Happy Thursday Y'all!
The clouds were spectacular last week. And I had the opportunity to fly thru them. Enjoy the view! Happy Wednesday Y'all!
I think it is fun to look inside artists sketchbooks, so here is a glimpse into mine for the past two weeks. I worked on developing an alphabet alongside my usual pattern & face doodles. Happy Tuesday Y'all! |
